Trip to AZ!

The kids and I headed to Arizona last week.  Although we planned this trip before my parents knew about our twinners but we knew and know that once they come we won't be traveling for a bit and certainly won't be flying.  I really saw this as a sort of last hurrah.  My goals for this trip were to not be sick (I have been sick the past 3 times we have gone on a trip, yuck!), relax, and spend lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather.  I am happy to say I accomplished all of my goals!!

We flew out the morning of Monday, February 15th and thankfully got to fly out of Idaho Falls which is so much easier than having to drive to Ogden or Salt Lake.  The flight went well and the kids did great although Kaley is pretty done being a lap child.  We had gorgeous weather the whole time we were there and we seriously soaked it all in.  As soon as we got to my parents house, it was shorts and bare feet the rest of the week.  Our fun for the week included: playing outside, visiting 3 different parks, the Phoenix Zoo, movie with grandpa for the older kids, a visit to the Phoenix temple for me, shopping for my mom and me, fire pit fun and smores, and lots of projects with Grandma. We came home early Sunday, February 21st.  We were all tired because it was early but the flight went smoothly and once again the kids did great.  We were happy to be home again and we sure did miss Steve!!

One highlight of the trip was our little Kaley.  She is our most serious and cautious child and she is not open to other people.  On this trip Kaley totally opened up to my parents and was super cute and smiley with them.  It was especially nice since my mom will be the one to stay with the kids while I am in the hospital having the twins, and she was starting to get really nervous about how that would go with Kaley and now we are all feeling much better about it.  Kaley really loved all of the time to play outside and explore.

All three kids became obsessed with playing in the dirt.  It was like they had never seen dirt before.  We definitely had baths every single day while there!
