We headed out Thursday afternoon and the drive went really well. Preston did great, thanks mostly in part to a Father's Day gift from my parents of a DVD player for the car. Thank goodness for that! We got there late but headed out super early Friday morning to Lake Mead to take advantage of the hot weather and some jet skis! They were so much fun and it was great to be there with the fam. Preston loved the water too!

That night we had family pictures, the first ones we've gotten in 6 years. Awesome, except for the fact that Preston grabbed my flat iron while we were getting ready. He burned his fingertips on his right hand. It was so sad and I felt horrible!! He screamed for over an hour straight, right through all of the pictures. I haven't seen them yet (I'll hopefully be getting a CD soon), but I don't have high hopes for how Preston looks in them, or us as we were trying to console him. Very sad about that and his poor fingers that got huge blisters the next day. Thankfully his injury didn't even bother him the rest of the weekend.

Saturday was the real reason why we were all there, and it was to be apart of our nephew Blake's sealing to Dan and Aranne in the Las Vegas Temple. They adopted Blake 8 months ago and after all the court stuff was finalized they were able to go ahead with his sealing and blessing. This was a very special and emotional event since they are going on 3 years since they began their journey of adoption. Blake (who by the way is the most adorable little boy!) was so sweet and just looked back and forth between his mom and dad. I was very touched by the Spirit to witness the start of their eternal family. I'm just so grateful for the blessing of temples and the gospel so that we can be with our families forever.
The rest of the day was spent having a BBQ and swimming which was perfect because it was HOT!! Preston loved swimming once we took off his floaty thing. I swear we were in the water forever!

Sunday was Blake's blessing! He had a lot of friends and family there to show our love and support.

Preston got very worn out on this trip since he was up way past his bedtime every night. This is what he looked like at 10pm in our hotel, needless to say he went to sleep very quickly!

We headed home Monday afternoon after a great, busy, and very tiring weekend. We're so grateful we were able to go and that we have such amazing families. There were so many pictures taken but not all by me, I feel bad that I don't have all of the family represented but they were there I promise!!

It was probably the best moment of my life to be all together with you for Blake's special moment. We had such fun. We love you, too!
Went from hot Tucson to hot Vegas. Anywhere there is sun is the greatest place on Earth. Hope your summer is a fun one!
