Idaho!

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Idaho for Steve's sister, Angie's wedding (which we'll be in a separate post)! We were so excited to finally be going and share in her very special day!

Preston was excited to help us pack!

We were a little nervous about how Preston would do on the plane since he is such an active boy, but he did pretty good, with no fits, major crying, or screaming... that's a success to me! It was fun to point out all the planes to him, he loved to watch all of them.

We had such a great time in Idaho. The weather was beautiful (as in, we could be outside in the afternoon without melting!), the family time was great, and it was busy but relaxing. Preston loved the grass, he had so much fun running and playing in it. I love this picture because our poor kid is so used to just rocks that he didn't know the difference between grass and bushes at first!

Preston's favorite part of the trip was definitely playing with his cousin Tyson, who we now call Ty since our new brother-in-law is also named Tyson. We were curious how they would do together now that there are a little older and have so many opinions, but they just loved to play together and were such good buddies!

Sharing the car!

Steve's family was altogether for the first time in awhile, so we had to snatch a pic of Mom with all her kids: Steve, Angie, Daniel, and Lisa.

We were able to do a lot of fun things: help get ready for the wedding, celebrate Steve's mom's birthday, the girls getting pedicures, relaxing nap times, having dinner at Aunt Bev's house, Steve and I going on a little date to the movies thanks to Grammy & Papa babysitting, BBQ at Susan & Lewis's house, and lots of hanging out and watching the little boys play.

The one bad part about our trip was that halfway through our trip Preston got sick. He had been really fussy and not eating well but we thought that was because of traveling, but he got a fever that he fought the rest of the time we were there. It made him lethargic and not his super happy self, but thankfully with the help of Motrin he was able to play and still have some fun. (He had a really high fever for a total of 5 days, ended up being a viral thing that you can't really do anything about. We were very happy when he started feeling better and eating again!). You know Preston is sick when he holds still and cuddles with you. So sad!

Here's our big boy on the way home... I thankfully had an empty seat next to me which made the flight way easier for all of us. We were worried since Preston was still sick and the flight was pretty late, but he did great besides chatting the whole time! He kept pointing to all the people around and saying, "nigh-nigh" and I kept telling him that he should be sleeping too! Nice end to a great trip!

Sounds like good times. I've never taken kids on an airplane so it looks very intimidating to me. Love his Elmo shirt too :)
