Nebraska...

Our family made the long trek to Norfolk, Nebraska to visit Steve's family.  We left New Year's Day and had to drive 3 and a half hours to the Salt Lake airport, take a 2 hour flight to Omaha, and then drive 2 hours to Norfolk.  It was a very long travel day but thankfully the kids were really good and everything went smoothly.  We finally got to their house about 10:30pm and were so happy to be there and see them!

We had a great time visiting Grammy, Papa, Angie, and Tyson and although we didn't do anything super exciting we enjoyed the time just hanging out.  A few things we did do: go out to eat, go the mall, tour the town, tour the hospital John works at, go to see "Frozen" with the all the kids, get haircuts and my hair colored by Angie, watch movies, go to a baptism of a 9 year old girl in their ward who had asked John to baptize her (he's the bishop of their ward) and just watch the kids play and play and play.  I think that was my favorite part, to see the kids have so much fun together.  Unfortunately Steve got sick our first full day their and was out of commission for a chunk of the time we were there.  At least we were somewhere he could just sleep and relax and the kids kept themselves occupied.

We had a good time but of course the time went by way too fast and by Sunday it was already time to say goodbye.  That is always the hard part and reminds us of how sad it is to live so far away from our families.  They are planning a trip to Idaho over Memorial Day, which is over 5 months away, so we'll have to be brave until then.  We are so very blessed that we have such wonderful families.

The kids are getting to be quite the pros at flying by now and they did a great job on both flights.

We finally got home at 7:30pm on Sunday just in time for Steve to start his new job on Monday morning.  He had a really good first day and everyone was very nice so now he just needs to adjust to all that new job stuff.  Very proud of him and all of his hard work!
