We had our big ultrasound on Thursday! We were so excited to finally know if this baby would bring us more pink or more blue. This whole pregnancy both Steve and I had been feeling that it was a girl. I even had a few very vivid dreams of the doctor telling us it was a girl. Preston would always say he wanted a boy and Abby would say girl... not surprising. Steve and I went to the appointment on our own and thrilled to find out everything looks healthy and normal and to be told it's a............ GIRL!! It still feels a little weird to actually know and makes it that much more real. This is how we told the kids:
It was a fun way to surprise them! Preston may look excited in the pictures but he was (is) quite disappointed that it's not a boy. We have to keep reminding him that we don't get to decide but that Heavenly Father and Jesus do so we know it's for the best. We also keep telling him that he and Daddy are the boys in the family and it's their job to take care of the girls. We're so excited and love that knowing the gender helps us get to know this baby a little better before we meet her and gives her a little identity. We're pretty sure we have a name but not telling yet!
