At the end of winter, we took a drive on a random Sunday and completely by accident found a little lake. We had no idea it was even there and felt like we had stumbled onto something. We nicknamed it Secret Lake, although we knew it was no secret since there was an established beach, docks, picnic areas, etc... lol. We've been wanting to go all summer and finally got a chance yesterday. A lot of the schools around here are back in so we knew it wouldn't be very busy but since it was crazy WINDY, there was NO ONE else there. We had the beach part to ourselves for about 45 minutes before one other group got there. The wind was too intense for our liking (a common occurance here) and the water was cold but we made the best of just being outside in the sunshine and enjoying it.

Our private beach!

This is all Abby wanted to do, walk around and around.

The sand was actually pretty yucky and more like clay, no sand castles at this beach. We all left sandy and muddy and got straight into showers and baths when we got home.
Yesterday was most likely our last day of 90 or above temps so we feel like it was a little farewell to summer here. It's still in the 80's here but with the wind there is definitely a touch of fall in the air (insert unhappy face here), especially in the mornings and evenings. The change of seasons is nice but summer is definitely the shortest one, and since I love the sunshine and being outside so much, it makes me sad.
