Just a few things about our Preston... He only has one week left of school and it cannot come fast enough for him. He's a really good student and is doing well in all of the subjects and has fun with his friends and yet he still doesn't want to go, pretty much everyday! Hate that it is still a battle for him after the whole school year but I think he really would much rather stay home and play all day than sit still learning at school. Oh well, we'll have to see how second grade goes!
He had one last doctor's appointment for his arm... we were nervous he might need to do some physical therapy for it but turns out it is doing great! Amazing what the human body can do, especially how quickly children heal. So grateful that it resolved itself so well.
Preston is a really good reader but lately we've been trying to figure out how to get him to enjoy it more and do it for fun instead of just because he has to. Steve found some Batman chapter books at the library and it clicked!! Preston can read a whole one in about an hour if he wants to. Steve went from getting a couple from the library to bringing home a stack of about 8. This has brought on a resurgence for his love for Batman things which has been fun. He randomly dressed up in his Batman costume one night, even though it is way too small, and helped Kaley put on a costume too. Cute kids!
Lastly, Preston had a bug play for school a couple weeks ago. They have been working on this for a couple of months and he was pretty nervous about it. He got to be a firefly and had a two sentence little part memorized. He is our kid that just doesn't like to be in front of people, especially if it involves singing, but he did a fabulous job! He did great on his part and sang all of the songs. It was a lot of fun and the girls liked to watch.
