Fun things!

Steve and I were saying yesterday that we've been really busy on the weekends lately doing a lot of fun things. And today as I was talking to my 10 year old class I teach at church and telling them what we were busy doing yesterday, one girl said, "You do a lot of stuff!"  I think that's so true in the summer, we do a lot of stuff!  We don't do anything super fancy or go on crazy vacations but because of the weather here they have to cram all of the community events into 3 short months.  I think between moving to a place that is smaller and we get bored easily (especially in the winter) and having a busy 3 year that loves to always be on the go, we're always seeking out fun things during the summer.  So, sorry to anyone who reads my blog (not sure how many people that really is!) but it looks like my blog will just document what we're doing for the next little bit... but I love it!

Camping Trip #1
Steve and Preston headed out camping with Papa (Steve's dad John) and Tyson.  Preston was just a little excited!  Steve even made a "camping card" for him with his name and some outdoor-sy stickers.  We told him he needed it to go camping and he held onto it so tight!  They just went overnight in John's tent trailer and went somewhere really close but for two little boys it was perfect.  They did some canoeing in the morning (which neither Steve nor Preston enjoyed) before heading home.  Abby and I enjoyed the time alone running some errands and getting a project done, it was nice!

Fathers and Sons Campout
While my parents were in town it was our ward's Fathers and Sons' Campout.  Preston got to go with his dad, both of his grandpas, and Tyson.  It ended up raining that night but they said the boys didn't notice.  Apparently it was a sleepless night for all of them, so they came back in the morning all worn out.

Apparently Steve is the horse whisperer, never knew!!

Rexburg Air Show
A week ago Rexburg had their air show, only a half an hour away from us and free, can't beat that!  It was pretty busy and we weren't very smart and didn't bring our chairs but it was a lot of fun.  They had some things to look at up close and the BYU-I jazz band playing oldies which was fun.  We were able to snag some chairs and sit pretty close to the front.  Since it's a little airport they only had small planes with propellers but we got to be pretty close and see the planes as they were getting ready and landing which Preston liked.  There were some pretty cool ones that did some pretty fun tricks.  We had lunch in the park and topped it off with ice cream, it was a great day!

This was Preston's favorite!  He was on the look out all day for a blue plane since it's his favorite color.  We convinced him this one was super cool because it was the same colors as his shirt.

Jensen's Grove
We had one of those days last week where we didn't have anything planned and some things changed last minute.  Steve had to meet up with his dad in Blackfoot so me and the kids decided to tag along.  We went to a park for awhile to play and then went to their little lake.  Tyson came along and the boys had a great time playing in the sand and water and Abby did too.
