Part 1: AZ
This was the first time we have driven to Arizona from Idaho, an adventure for sure. We broke the drive up because we all hate to drive, especially the kids so we like to take breaks. It was an 8 hour drive to Kanab, Utah but because of stops, car seat troubles (a whole other story!!), minor car issues, pouring rain, it took us over 12 hours to get there. We finally got there after 11pm and were all exhausted since the kids barely slept. Thankfully our next day's drive was shorter and we made good time. Preston knew we were getting close to Grandma and Grandpa's house because he started seeing cactus... and we had to tell him what palm trees were... poor kid.
| My family in a nutshell... LOVE!! |
| Glenn Canyon Dam - Preston decided it was called a "bam" which was fine with us because we can avoid him possibly saying a bad word. |
We got to go a D-Backs game while we were there (and Steve got to go to another one by himself). It was great for so many reasons... Steve got to see his team in person, we got to go out kid-free thanks to my parents, and had a great night. It sure took me back to all of those games we went to when we lived in Tucson before we had kids and all those responsibilities that have piled up. It was great to remember those times!
We got to go to a really awesome train park in Scottsdale. It had awesome playgrounds and trains galore to look at and the train ride was only $2 each, which is great for a 7 minute ride. Preston was in heaven... which has given us a few ideas for his birthday and Christmas.
Next stop: Las Vegas...
