Day in Salt Lake...

Steve's dad, John, was able to come home from Nebraska for the long weekend.  We had them up here for a bbq and early birthday party for him on Saturday and then Preston went home with them and spent Saturday and Sunday night with them which he LOVES doing.  Monday we all headed down to Salt Lake City to spend the day there together before he had to go to the airport.  We headed to City Creek Center (aka. giant, fancy mall with a creek and really pretty landscaping and fountains).  We had lunch, walked, checked out a couple stores, walked, let the kids play, walked, and let the kids (mostly Preston) play in the fountains.

Note to self: when you tell Preston to "Go for it" with anything having to do with water, expect him to be drenched to the bone in about 2 minutes.  I should've expected that, but didn't plan for it.  After playing for probably 30 minutes, he started getting cold and he was so wet there was no hope of drying anytime soon.  Of course our car was a good 20 minute walk away and we were going to Temple Square which was right by where we were.  What do you know, there is a Gymboree store right by the fountains.  We found some pants and a shirt on the clearance rack, but still pricier than what I spend at Target or Kohl's, but oh well.  They ended up being GIANT on him and he held onto his pants the rest of the day to keep them from falling.  He looked like a bum, lol.

Then we headed to temple square.  Always beautiful and has such a sense of history.  I love it there.

I was trying to get a picture of Preston holding up his pants, lol.

Just so everyone knows, according to Preston Jesus lives in space and there might be space monsters with him. Not exactly the lesson we were looking for, haha.
We then had to walk all the way back to where we started, grab a quick dinner, and part ways.  We were EXHAUSTED and I was embarrassed at how tired and sore my legs were from just walking.  It was fun to spend the day together!
