Halloween Fun!

We had a great Halloween this year and the kids were so excited for all of it.  This year we had Ezra (a jedi in training from Disney's Star Wars Rebels, Anna from Frozen, and a Strawberry.  Preston's costume was a clearance find two months ago for $2.50 and Kaley wore Abby's old strawberry costume (even though it is size 0-6 months, it still worked for her!).  Abby was the only one that I went above and beyond to make a super cute costume.  I made a big puffy skirt out of 10 yards of tulle, a super cute cape out of pink fleece, and added some felt cut outs onto a black leotard she already had.  I loved how it came out and she was excited to finally be able to wear it.

We started our Halloween week by eating a jack-o-lantern pizza and carving our pumpkins on Monday for family night.

We had a few different Halloween events to go to which we love that it's more than just one day for a couple of hours.  We went to Boo at the Zoo on Wednesday (the 28th) which is definitely a highlight with tons of decorations, lights, trick or treat booths, and of course the animals.  It's pretty busy but always worth it.

Abby had her Halloween party at preschool on Thursday and got to wear her costume. Preston got to wear his costume to school on Friday and the girls and I got to go watch the school's costume parade in the morning.  That afternoon I took the older kiddos to a small trick or trunk sponsored by some local businesses even though it was freezing and windy! We enjoyed spooky black spaghetti for dinner that night!

Did I mention it was cold?!  The kids ere very excited about the free hot chocolate!

Saturday we went to Cabella's which a had a small Halloween event and gave out prize bags to each kid.  That afternoon/early evening we had our ward party which was interesting because we had to have it all outside and it was a very cold and windy day.  We definitely all bundled up like crazy!  Thankfully the turnout was still pretty good considering the weather, the soup was nice and warm, and the kids loved to trick or treat around the cars.  We finished off our night by braving the cold and wind to go trick or treating down a few of the streets right by us.  Preston and Abby get so into and didn't even mind the bad weather while Kaley kept warm in the stroller.
