Our new niece...

We are thrilled to welcome our new niece to the world and to our family.

Chelsea Danielle Urbancic
Born February 25th - 5 lbs. 9 oz.
Joined her family on March 7th

Dan and Aranne adopted their son Blake who's now almost two and a half through LDS Family Services.  It was a long hard wait for them to get Blake that lasted about 2 years.  We were so thrilled when Blake joined their family, he is such a sweet and cute boy.  After he had turned two they had started talking about getting paperwork ready to adopt another child.  They were trying to get it done before Christmas but that didn't happen and then at the new year, but still it wasn't ready.  About the 3rd week of January their paperwork was complete and they were officially approved to adopt again.  That was a Friday and on the next Monday they got a call that a pregnant birth mother wanted to choose them.  It was a shock to them and after praying and thinking about it a lot they decided it was meant to be and that this baby was to be theirs.  They were told that the mom was due in March but other than that they knew nothing and just had to wait.  They got the call on Feb. 27th and got to go to the hospital to meet her, we were so excited for them.  They had to wait 9 very long and stressful days before they got to take her home because the birth mother neglected to sign the paperwork before leaving the hospital (she has given up 4 previous children for adoption, so she knows how this goes, but still didn't do it and was completely unreachable).  Finally after fasting and lots of prayers by all the family, a judge said that baby Chelsea could go home to her new family.  Adoption really is such a miracle and guided by our Heavenly Father.  So happy that they could expand their family and that we have this beautiful new niece.  I know I kind of went on about this even though it's not about me, but it was a faith building experience for me knowing that things really happen in the Lord's time and that prayers are really answered.  We can't wait to meet her!
