A visit from Grandma!

The same night that we had to say goodbye to Steve's family my mom flew into town.  Since she retired and doesn't have to go back to school she thought she'd get out of town when she would be in meetings, setting up her classroom, etc.  And we definitely welcomed the distraction from the stress and sadness of late.  We always love when Grandma comes to town and the kids love doing fun thing with her!  This trip was no exception with activities like: Preston swim lessons, playing at home, picnics at the park, summer movie, Ammon Days (community event that included a helicopter fly over, games, prizes, firetrucks, car show, snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, and more all for free), Legacy Flight Museum, the Rexburg splash pad, and more!

Quote from Preston, "Cotton candy AND snow cones AND popcorn?!? This day is awesome!"
Face painted shark, fireman's hat, and a stuffed dragon all free... Ammon Days really was awesome!
Homemade flubber was a huge success!  The kids have played with it everyday since, multiple times a day.
Preston loved this plane that he could actually get inside!

Preston told us that he and Abby were rock stars!

Cotton candy again... it's a favorite around here.

Love this, story of our lives.

We had a great time with my mom here for a whole week and were sad to see her go.  Back to real life for us but we're going to work on taking advantage of the rest of summer before school starts after Labor Day (we're doing really well on our summer fun checklist!).
