We were so excited to have my parents in town to celebrate the 4th of July with us, it made it that much more fun! We started our day bright and early with the Idaho Falls parade. The last time we had been to the 4th of July parade here was 3 years ago when Fantastic Sam's (and Steve) had a float in the parade. It was a fun parade and I'm really glad we went. We came home and relaxed and took turns taking naps and the kids played in the water in the backyard.
We had a bbq of hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner followed by an epic water fight between Steve and the kids. We topped it all off with fireworks at home (which we opted to do instead of going to the big firework show by the river, which doesn't even start until 10pm and gets insanely busy meaning we'd have to get there hours early and take forever to get home, doesn't sound like a great idea with small kids!). It was great and we all loved it. I think we really had a great 4th at our house.

| Steve's family sent a 4th of July box so our kids were decked out in their red, white and blue! |
| These firefighters played "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes and it seriously gave me chills. So good! |
| The floats that were made by the stakes were awesome! Love that the temple is just a common sight around here! |
| The water fight started with Steve spraying Preston who always wants to get sprayed and get wet. Then he got a hold of the hose and Steve got sprayed and then Abby got in on the action. Such fun memories! |
| The big line up! I was able to put Kaley to bed at the normal time and still have all this fun, which was super nice. |
| We were not big fans of some of the sparklers we got (the wind is partially to blame) but they wouldn't light and then stay lit. So Steve and I decided to use up the last 15 or so at the same time. Probably not the safest thing we've ever done, lol! |
Sunday morning came way too fast and we had to say goodbye to my parents. We were all so sad. Add to that 9am church (which is always an adventure with not so willing children!) and all of us being exhausted and we were a sad looking bunch walking into church. Preston cried and was upset for at least a half an hour. :( We really had so much fun with them and did so many fun things while they were here that we felt like we were on vacation even though we never left. Hard to get back to reality and the kids asked me early Monday, "What are we going to do today??" and I had a hard time coming up with an answer!
In a small update as to what is going on with us... The first of the month came and went and once again we couldn't bring ourselves to give our notice. Steve had a final, in person interview (Yay!) for a Marketing Strategist position for Idaho Central Credit Union. Steve is really excited about this position and it seems like it would be a great thing for him and our family. We don't know what the pay would be yet, but we're hopeful it's close to where we would need to be and feel like this could be a position he could be in for awhile and could lead to other great things. This job is in Chubbuck which is just North of (basically part of) Pocatello which is an hour south of us. They are looking for someone to move there not commute, which would be a big adventure for us but not as scary as moving out of state and something we are totally willing to do. We really want this one, and if this happens it would be the miracle we have been waiting for and right when we need it most. Now it's the hard part of waiting, they told us it would be a week or two until they make a decision. So now we cross our fingers and bend our knees! In the meantime we are just trying to get the most out of summer around here since we don't know what's in store for us or where we will end up!
