A Wedding and a visit!

On Thursday, June 29th my grandpa, Lowell Petersen, got remarried.  Steve had to work but I decided to drive down to Utah with all the kids for just the day to be there and support him. We picked up some lunch (In & Out for me since we don't have any in Idaho!) and met my parents, one sister in law and their kids, and my brother all at a park.  It was a beautiful day and fun to let the kids all play.  After that we headed to my grandparents house to hang out a bit before getting ready for his wedding.  The wedding was in the backyard of some dear friends of theirs.  The woman he married used to be his secretary for years.  They had both bee care givers to ailing spouses that passed away and then reconnected.  They already had that foundation of trust from working together all those years ago.  He seemed so happy!

Ever since my grandma passed away we would ask in our family prayers for Grandpa Petersen to not feel lonely.  We truly feel that him being together with Carolyn is an answer to prayers.  It was a great teaching moment with our children for them to see their prayers working.  They are a busy happy couple that are always on the go and have lots of traveling planned.  I am so happy for them!

We had a good chunck of our family there which was fun!  Some of who got to meet the twins for the first time.

My mom and dad.

My grandpa in the middle with Carolyn by his side, then my mom and her siblings.
It was a beautiful fun day that was of course tiring and we didn't get home until about 10 or 11pm.  The next day my parents made their way up for a visit with us!  They stayed until July 5th and we had a lot of fun with them as we always do!

One night we had dinner by the falls and then headed to the Museum of Idaho which was doing an exhibit on Space exploration.  It was really great and Preston was able to ride on this contraption.

We also spent a lot of time outside, especially in the evenings.  A summer favorite!
