We celebrated Christmas by taking a long trip, something we haven't done in a long time. We started by spending a couple days with my parents in Phoenix and helped my mom celebrate her birthday. About an hour into the drive up there, we realized we forgot Preston's coat, seriously of all things to forget, why did I have to forget his coat, especially since we were headed up to the snow?! So one Walmart trip and $13 later Preston ended up with a brown and camo puffy coat with bright orange fleece inside. It was pretty ugly and he looked ready for his first hunting trip but he managed to make it look cute. Gotta love Walmart!!
We had a great time with my parents and it was good to see them before Christmas and they were nice enough to drive us to the airport and watch Jackie while we were gone.
Salt Lake
We headed to Salt Lake City first to stay a couple of days with my aunt and uncle, Rees and Lisa and their kids Rachel and Garrett. They were such great hosts and we had an awesome time with them. We played games, watched a movie, went out to eat, played lots of Wii, drove around Salt Lake, had hot chocolate and just hung out. We also got to see my grandparents which was nice. While there they took us to see the lights at Temple Square something I had never done and Steve hadn't in years. It was very cold, windy, and snowy when we went so Preston didn't love it so much, but it was beautiful. It made me remember the true meaning of Christmas and feel the love that our Savior has for us. I'm so glad that we were able to go.

Preston instantly became best friends with my cousin Garrett who is 9 years old. Garrett just loved to play with him and run around with him. It was so adorable to watch!

Steve's parents picked us up in Salt Lake and we headed to Pocatello. It had been 3 or 4 years since we've spent Christmas with Steve's family so we had been looking forward to it for a long time. It felt so good to be with them and celebrate the holiday with them. We enjoyed playing games, watching movies, Preston playing with Tyson, all of the Christmas festivities, Preston getting a haircut, me cutting off 6+ inches of hair, watching Preston in the snow for the first time, going to a fireside of Ryan and Ashley from So You Think You Can Dance (Steve's mom and Ryan's mom have been best friends for years, it was pretty cool to see them in person!), a big family birthday party, a family home evening with Grandma Chandler and just enjoying spending time as a family.

It was so fun to see Preston in the snow. He was so cute all bundled up. He didn't know what to do and was kind of tripping over the boots he was wearing. He got into it when we found a small shovel for him to play with (his favorite thing lately is carrying around a broom or swiffer sweeper so a shovel was right up his alley!).
These cousins were just so cute together. They are only about 9 months apart and they really enjoyed playing together, even if Tyson called Preston "Addy", a friend at church, the whole time. I think these boys are really missing each other now.

The Christmas season is such a special one and it is made even more special when you're surrounded by family. We are so truly blessed!

That is fun to see you guys with Grandma Shirley. I bet she had a really good Christmas with all you guys there.
I wish we could have seen you guys while you were here but there is no way in heck you could have gotten me to Temple Square to see the lights! Too too cold!
Looks like you guys had a great trip. We were bummed the stop at our house got skipped and we missed you but hopefully we will see you again soon! Here is to a great New Year for you guys.. and all of us for that matter.
You need to start making Salt Lake a Christmas tradition, or just move here. After you left, we were all in mourning. For New Years, my friend was here with her one year old boy named Lincoln and Garrett kept calling him Preston. His dad had to keep correcting Garrett. So glad you had a good Christmas...WE MISS YOU!!!
