Sunday we had a big sleepover at our house with Angie and Ty and 5 of Steve's cousins because they were all in the parade early Monday morning. We had a lot of fun eating pizza, eating lots of goodies including homemade caramel popcorn, doing fireworks in the front yard, painting toe nails, and staying up late. We were all up bright and early (and tired!) and sent everyone on their way to the parade while I took Preston, Ty and Abby to go watch the parade with Steve's mom, grandma, and aunt and uncle.
The parade was great and the little boys loved it but we all got the most excited when we saw the Fantastic Sams float! It was so fun to see loved ones in the parade, we were so proud and took lots of pictures. The float had two styling chairs on it with Steve's cousins sitting in them and 2 more pretending to do hair. The float wouldn't be complete without Fantastic Fuzzy, the neon orange, giant bear that's the mascot for Fantastic Sams. Steve had the not so fun job of being Fantastic Fuzzy for the parade. Thankfully we had wonderful weather that wasn't hot, otherwise he might have died of heat stroke in that suit!
The parade was followed by a BBQ at our house and some swimming and sprinklers for the little kids.
After big naps for everyone but me, we ended the night watching the
Overall, it was a great holiday weekend. Only drawback: we were EXHAUSTED!!! But I guess that's how you know you had a great time!
With all the festivities and no nap, Preston crashed like this at 6:30 and we had to wake him up at 9:30 to go see the big fireworks!

We love these pictures! Fantastic Fuzzy is pretty darn cute and Preston and Abby are darling in their 4th of July duds.
Wow...Steve's never looked better! :)
It's too bad that you didn't like the the fireworks...if you go right on the river by the temple they are incredible. Idaho Falls fireworks are the best!
Sounds, and looks, like a great and busy holiday. I am sure this will become part of your family tradition and that is great.
