It was HOT but thankfully it wasn't too busy. Since it is the off season the park was only open from 10am-5pm so it was go, go, go to get everything in. We got to see all of the shows, see all the animals, and let the kids go on some fun rides. Poor Steve was a trooper even though he didn't feel good at all and thankfully that was the first day that I was starting to feel really good again.
One of the highlights of the day was when Preston and Tyson decided to go on the ride Journey to Atlantis. It's a log ride type ride with a big hill drop into water first and then the second half is a short roller coaster. It looks quite intimidating so we were surprised that they were both excited to go on it. Grammy stayed with Abby and Kaley and the rest of us hopped on the ride, thankful for super short wait times! Preston just giggled the whole ride while Tyson told us afterwards that he was going to put that on his list of the worst things he's ever done. Haha! Towards the end of the day we had some time and Preston wanted to ride the Atlantis ride again, so Steve, John, Preston and I headed to that while Angie and Grammy took the girls and Tyson to some of the smaller rides and play area. Preston of course loved it again. There was one more roller coaster that was a little bit bigger and scarier but we decided to go for it. Once we got there, Preston started crying and got really scared. We got on the ride anyway but since he was crying, the employee made him and Steve get off the ride. John and I went on the ride and then Steve persuaded Preston to go on it even though he was scared. Definitely a parent/child teaching moment of overcoming fears and not quitting. So all four of us went on it. It was definitely faster and more intense than we thought so we thought Preston might be scared but he ended up liking that ride too and we were proud of him for doing it.
We were all tired and sunburned by the end of the day but we all had a great time and got to see and do a lot of great things!
| This was the only ride Kaley did. You can barely see her head by Angie! She didn't like when it went up in the air. |
| Love this! |
