The kiddos...

Just wanted to do a little bit about the kids...

Abby Jean... I realized I never put anything about Abby starting to walk.  This little girl was so funny about walking.  She scooted super early and crawled pretty early too and we thought for sure she would be an early walker.  But no, she took her sweet time and figured crawling was faster.  She took her first step on Mothers' Day but even though she would take 3 or 4 steps to get in between things she still wasn't digging it. Finally on June 10th while my parents were here, it just clicked with her and she's only been walking ever since.  She's such a big girl now!  I'm always amazed at how happy she is and happy she makes me.  Her smile and giggle are contagious and I love that she can be a cheese ball sometimes.  She's starting to have a stronger opinion when her brother or I take something away and gets a little angry and lets out a frustrated little scream, so funny.  She just recently attempted doing summer-salts, she must have seen Preston doing them, she stands on her feet then bends down and puts her head on the floor and either waits for us to help her do the rest or she falls to the side, it's pretty cute.  She is a happy girl and really the only times she's upset are when she can't do or have what she wants, like when her brother is playing outside and she can't.  She really loves her brother, it is wonderful to watch.  She would have every right to lose patience with and get frustrated with Preston and she doesn't, she just adores him.  Love this girl!

Preston... This boy continues to be our super busy, active Preston!  He just goes and goes and there are some days that at the end of the day I (and Steve if it's a weekend) and just exhausted because it felt like Preston didn't stop for one second... but that's nothing new for him.  His favorite thing right now is saying silly, made-up words.  He will use them for everything but it can get a little annoying after awhile.  We don't want to stunt his creativity but we try to encourage big boy words if he's trying to talk to us or for people's names... we're working on it.  His favorite color is LIGHT blue, not just blue, light blue and that would be his choice in everything if he could.  He is all about his sister, maybe a little too much.  He is always wanting to play with her, chase her, and be in her face so we have to remind him to back off every once in a while.  He is still all about cars (of every kind), spaceships, and monster trucks and he's just recently become interested in helping me cook which is fun.  He loves going to the park and playing in the sprinklers and pool.  He's doing the reading program at the library for the first time, which is fun for him to get little prizes.  He may be my crazy boy but he does have some sweetness... I ask him what he dreams about each morning and almost always his answer is that he dreamt about Jesus.  He loves Jesus and talking about him and frequently tells me that he wants to give Jesus a hug or misses him.  Pretty darn sweet.

Don't worry, it was just juice!
