Saying Goodbye...

Well... Steve's Dad, John, starts his new job in Norfolk, Nebraska next Monday.  After losing his job as the CFO at the Pocatello hospital, that's when he started the business with Fantastic Sams and Steve joined in.  Starting a business is hard and doesn't mean money just rolls in so they decided it was time for some more income and better insurance for Elaine (who has a laundry list of health problems and VERY expensive prescriptions).  He had already turned down a job offer in Oklahoma because it wasn't a good fit and had interviewed a few other places.  This is a good position as the CFO for the hospital there and is a great opportunity... except for the fact that it's in Nebraska, 17 hours away from here. :( 

He is moving there now and living in an apartment while they try to sell their house (a task made even more difficult now that everything around them was burned) and then Elaine, Angie, and Tyson will move out there with them.  Monday Steve helped load up the truck and Steve and John left yesterday morning.  Steve is helping on the drive and unloading and will be flying back tomorrow late.  Goodbyes are never easy, so Monday night we had a special family home evening where John was able to give Elaine a blessing and then Steve was able to give his dad a blessing, which was the first time he has ever done that so it was a very special moment.  We woke up early Tuesday as John got the last few things done and said our goodbyes and waved to the moving truck.  He is hoping to come back at least one weekend a month which is good.  

It was hard to say goodbye to him but it just made it all the more real that the rest of Steve's family will be leaving too.  This is just sad and hard.  Of course the selfish part of me and Steve are upset (maybe a little mad) that we moved to Idaho, something we never thought we would do, to live closer to family and do this business with John and now they are abandoning us here.  But of course we can't blame them because this is not something they really want either.  We have really enjoyed being so close to them and I love the relationships my kids get to have with extended family.  We're not quite sure how this will all work out or what plan Heavenly Father has for them or us, but we know they are being guided and directed.  Definitely some hard times ahead for them with selling their house and making a big move, but we'll just have to see how it all works out.
