Last week Steve was supposed to go on his high adventure campout with the teenage boys from church that he had planned but instead he got hit with the flu really bad the day before so he ended up having to get a replacement last minute... he was so bummed. Since he was supposed to be gone for 3 days, Angie invited me and the kids to go with them to the Pioneer Day parade in Pocatello (they always do it the Saturday before). So we left a sick Steve at home to get some rest and we headed to Pocatello. We stayed there Friday night so we could get to the parade nice and early. It was a great parade and the boys had SO much fun. Their favorite part: running and getting all of the candy they were throwing out from the floats. They ended up with huge bag fulls, it was crazy.

Favorite float, it looked really cool.

After: holding up all the candy! Preston got so into it this time, it was so fun to watch!
After some lunch we headed to the fair grounds there for a Pioneer Day Celebration. It had lots of yummy food and fun activities and events all of which were either free or pretty cheap. The boys had fun playing some pioneer games and doing a jumping castle but the highlight was the horse ride. We had to wait a half hour but it was only 50 cents so it was totally worth it. I was worried Preston might freak out because horses are pretty big and he'd never been on one, but he did great. I was so proud and he had so much fun! After that we were all tired, dusty, and hot so we headed home but we had such a fun day!

Abby crashed right after the horse, she never falls asleep like this, so it told me how tired she was.
