Saturday, October 30th, we said goodbye to our house and hit the road for Phoenix. It was VERY hard to leave our house and say goodbye to Tucson. Thank goodness I had some tissues handy because I needed them. It still kind of feels like we're going to go back to our house and everything will be back to normal there. We will really miss our first house and all the many, many memories that were made there. Tucson will also be very missed. I didn't live there nearly as long as Steve did, but it was where we met, dated, got engaged and spent our married life up until now. It was a hard day but we know it will lead to good things.
We also took a picture of me and Preston inside but it turned out too dark (which is totally ok, because I was crying too much in the picture anyways.)
Our first stop was in Phoenix to spend the day with my parents. We were able to hang out and then got to go to their ward Trunk or Treat. With all the packing and moving stuff we didn't get to do a whole lot of Halloween stuff, so we were excited to go to this. We didn't want to spend much money on Preston's costume so we were able to assemble a train conductor costume. He was really cute even though he didn't want to wear his hat at all. There was a great turn-out and yummy chili cook-off. They also had cupcake decorating, a cake walk, and of course the trunk or treat. Preston was a little out of it and overwhelmed by it all but he got in the swing of things just in time to go around to the cars. We even got a little "Trick or Treat" out of him (ok, all you could understand is the "treat" at the end, but it still counted!).
Preston won a cupcake in the cake walk. He then enjoyed some purple frosting!
We forgot Preston's trick or treat bag so Steve got his little backpack that we had in the car. It's actually the backpack for his leash, but he just turned it around for his candy. Every time someone handed him a piece of candy he would just hold onto it and say "open it." He didn't understand that he would get more, he just wanted to eat one, so we finally gave him a Dum-Dum. It was a really fun night!
