Getting Ready to Move
You never know how much stuff you have until you see it all in boxes!! Packing seemed to be never-ending and the pile of boxes in the garage just grew and grew. Steve was awesome, he did the vast majority of the packing with no complaints. Preston tried helping too by carrying empty boxes and opening the door for his daddy, although his best kind of help was staying out of the way!
We found Preston's $10 Walmart coat from last year. Doesn't he look ready for Idaho?!

The Truck
We used the company U-Pack where they drop off the truck and leave it for a few days for you to load it and then drive it for you. It was only a little bit more expensive than U-Haul but so nice to not have to worry about driving that big giant truck.
We had some great friends and some of the young men from the ward come to help load up the truck. One of our friends used to work for UPS while the other one worked for a moving company in college so they were put in charge of where to put everything in the truck and they did an awesome job. Thanks to the help they got it all done in about 3 hours. Preston and I needed to stay out of the way so we ran errands while they were loading. Poor Preston was so confused because when we got home our house was empty. He kept running around pointing to where everything should have been and telling us. It was like he was saying, "Guys, are you dumb, our furniture is gone!!"
They picked up the truck the next day but we had to camp out at our house for a couple of days with our air mattress and a couple of borrowed camp chairs. It was weird and Preston was bored out of his mind but we did ok. We had to use the laptop to watch the movie "Cars" which has become Preston's security blanket of sorts during all of this. This was a lot of change for the little man so we pretty much let him watch that movie as much as he wanted to keep him happy.
